Brandon Darnell, President
Brandon is the also President/CEO of our sister company, Energy Dynamics, a distributor of renewable energy products; an officer in Pro-Team, a mechanical engineering firm; and co-owner of Dakota Air Handlers, a sheet-metal fabrication company. He obtained an Associate Degree in HVAC, graduating at the very top of his class in 1997. He is recognized in the industry as one of the best “troubleshooters” and “hands on” technicians. He contributes excellent business insight and insider knowledge of the HVAC industry to our team.
Jason holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He entered the Air Force as an Officer in 2001 and served as a Missile Maintenance Engineer. After graduating from Test Pilot School in 2005, Jason served as Flight Test Engineer in various leadership positions for several AF test programs including the Airborne Laser, F-16, B-2, F-22, F-15SA, and F-35 JSF. Additionally, he worked in the pentagon as a Program Manager for large AF acquisition programs and gained considerable systems engineering and business experience while leading these programs. Most recently, Jason completed a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. His passion is to revolutionize home/business energy use by unlocking on-site renewable energy via Multi-Source/Storage Heat Pump (MSSHP) Systems.
James began his career working on an off-shore a seismic-exploration vessel. He worked in the engineering department and worked on anything that made the ship move, have power, stay afloat etc. After a few years of hands on experience with the myriad of systems you’ll find on ships James quit that trade and landed in Montana. James became obsessed with hybrid/integrated thermal system concepts in 2007 while working for a mechanical contractor who had a solar thermal system on their shop and office. Around this time James earned certification in the installation of ground source or “geothermal” heat pumps. The integration of solar and heat pumps seemed obvious but there were no industry standards to refer to. James designed his first “hybrid” system in 2008 when he found a homeowner willing to deviate from industry norms. There was no looking back. James became addicted to the pursuit of MSSHP Systems and this became an obsession that remains to this day.
Colin is a 30 year veteran contractor. Colin holds licenses as a Master Plumber and Master Electrician and is a Radiant Professional Alliance certified Professional Designer/Installer. He is highly respected in the contracting community as a geothermal, radiant floor, air handling and commercial refrigeration expert. Colin’s provides abundant technical knowledge to MSSHP System designs and particularly to the development of hydronic solutions. One of the first of two “fusion” capable thermal batteries was installed in Colin’s own home in 2011 and each year we try various things to “break” it.
